No closet is complete without basics, I am a firm believer in it. Add a cool jacket and sunnies, and out the door you go. Personally, I’m guilty of owning too many basics but they come in handy when you’re in a pickle, there’s nothing like looking effortlessly cool. For this look, I chose a stripped t-shirt, black pants, black heels, and a moto jacket, and of course, Ray-Bans. The moto jacket I fell in love with last year was $650.00 (USD), nothing wrong with that if you can budget for it, a good leather jacket can last a lifetime. However, at the time I opted to wait on that purchase (student budget here!) and found this beautiful alternative last week, a floral print moto jacket. Believe it or not, a moto jacket is a basic, you can do so much with it and as soon as I get a chance I will make that big purchase. The sunnies I chose are original oversized wayfarer Ray-Ban’s, classics, and a good purchase because they will never go out of style. So, without further ado, here’s MY EDITION of the not so basic basics, channeling my inner Olivia Newton John here!

Los básicos no tan básicos…
Creo firmemente que todo armario necesita básicos, agregas unos lentes de sol dramáticos, una chamarra, y vámonos. En lo personal soy culpable de tener demasiados básicos, pero son indispensables, y te sacan cualquier apuro. No hay nada como verte bien y sin esfuerzo. Hoy escogí una camiseta rayada, pantalones negros, tacones negros, una chamarra de cuero (de a mentís), y claro unos Ray-Ban’s. El año pasado me enamore de una chamarra de cuero estilo moto que cuesta $650.00 (USD), no hay nada de malo en eso, si tienes el presupuesto, ya que una chamarra de cuero dura una vida entera. Por el momento decidí esperar (¡presupuesto estudiantil!) y encontré esta opción más económica la semana pasada, una chamarra imitación de cuero floreada. Lo crean o no, una chamarra estilo moto es básica, puedes usarla de mil maneras toda una vida, y en cuanto pueda me voy a comprar la que me lleno el ojo. Los lentes de sol que escogí esta vez son Ray-Ban’s originales, clásicos, y muy buena compra porque jamás pasaran de moda. I randomly found this spot after giving a friend a ride to Hollywood and it instantly became a favorite. I love a classic all American breakfast, and you can find it here for under $5 M-F 7am-10am. I LOVE the 50’s décor and memorabilia, they also have a wide selection of shakes and sundays, I want to try everything now. Here’s their info:
